Haley Gets Her Braces Off

Haley Got her braces off just in time for Thanksgiving dinner.  :)  November, 19th, 2012.  She got them on in August of 2009.  She was very happy to be braces free. She went to Aspen Orthodontics which is a 2 minute drive from our house.  We loved Dr. Stephen Hunsaker & his staff.

Lucy Gets Stitches

Lucy fell & landed on her chin & had to get 3 stitches.  Tyson & Katie have both had stitches in their chins so Lucy thought it was alright.  She was brave.

3 Day Walk

Some pictures taken on our walk.  It's fun to look back at them.  Walking 20 miles 3 days in a row was something that gives us the right to say "We can do hard things".  :)

3 Day Walk shirt

The back of our shirts we wore on the walk.  Anyone that donated $100.00 or more to our accounts got there name put on it.  We had sooo many more people who gave us great support it was hard to not put everyones on.

3 Day Walk

We slept in these cute little pink tents.  The 1st night was great but a storm came in & it got super cold the 2nd night.  We didn't sleep very well that night.  The food they served us was pretty bad.  We were surprised by that.  The lunches were all super bad sandwiches and we ate them just because we needed to for energy.  They had a foot massager that felt great , but about squeezed your feet off.  We had a dance party one night & that was really fun.  They had shower trailers for us that had great hot water.  That was nice.

3 Day Walk

At opening ceremonies, just getting ready to start the walk.  Jenny, Bonnie, Me & Millie.  Jenny wanted to do the walk in honor of Mom, breast cancer survivor 2011.  We did several fundraisers to earn the money & friends donated to our accounts.  We each had to earn $2,300.00.  That was hard!  We trained pretty good in the summer, which was also hard because of the extreme heat.  Mom got sick in August so we took about a month off from her being in the hospital sick & needing taken care of.  Then, the fair was on us in October & it was hard to train because of our time there.  The walk was just a few days after the fair.  We had gone on several long (15 - 18 mile) walks so we felt like we were ready.  Our shoes were broke in.  We did good & had lots of fun walking.  Everyone made us feel like heroes & that was an awesome feeling.

Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk

The Crew members were so much fun & also the people along the way that handed out goodies to us & cheered us on.  The men that were the crossing guards were so fun & kept you pumped up.  They had music going & were always dancing or being goofy.  Most of them had motorcycles they rode on.  You didn't have to walk very far before you came to another cheering station or people handing things out to you.  They always made you feel so good & like  you were a hero for walking.  They gave sincere Thank You's to us.   We loved the signs along the way in people's yard encouraging us.

Susan G. Komen - 3 Day Walk

We loved the support everyone gave us by showing up to cheer us on.  1st person was Sean (my son in law).  He was at work & we were walking right by, I called him & told him where we were & her ran over to see us.  My cute daughters & granddaughter came to cheer us on next with my friend Christina from high school.  Duane brought Mom, Dad, Brandi & Lucy to cheer us on.  We carried the Mother flag in honor of Mom until she met up with us.  George Sr Page, George Jr, Kristin & Peggy made us a fun sign... We voted Peggy our #1 cheerleader because she was at so many of the stops & was so excited to see us.  Teddy, Jenny's boyfriend came.  It was awesome to see all the family that came to the closing ceremonies.  & a big thanks to my cute hubby & my awesome friend Linda Burt for writing to me.  We got mail there & it was encouraging to read your letters.  Thanks EVERYONE who supported us in any way.
