Back to School

The kids started back to school on July 27th after a way too short summer break. I sure do love the extra time off they have during the year, but the summer is just too short. Kristen is a junior this year. Sydney is having her first high school year - she is a Freshman. They go to Basha High. They have lunch together and love being in school together. Haley is in the 6th grade at CTA Freedom school. Nellie is in Kindergarten at Weinberg Elementary school. She is in the special Ed program. It was really hard for me to have to put her in special ed but she is just too far behind that she wouldn't be able to keep up in a regular class. The bus picks her up right at our door. She loves the bus ride and loves school so far. I was afraid Sydney would have a hard time with the early schedule - last year she didn't have to get up until 8:00 and this year she gets up around 5:00. She is doing great. I was also worried about Nellie because she is a late night owl, but she is doing great.

Lindsay 1st Ward Campout

Our ward went on a campout to Longvalley (where we have girl's camp) the weekend before school started. It was so much fun. I love that land. It is so pretty there. We went up Friday morning and came home Sunday afternoon. Most of the ward members left on Saturday. There wasn't a good turnout - but it was fun to get to know the families that did come. Haley & Sydney got to go shooting on Saturday and loved it. It was great to be able to escape the heat for a little bit and go camping with the family - one of my favorite things to do.

Lucy's 1st Birthday Party

Lucy turned 1 on July 15th 2009. Tyson & Katie had a party for her. They had lots of good food, swimming & cake with lots of yummy blue frosting. Just ask Lucy how yummy it was. :) She was a very spoiled girl and got lots of presents.

Summer 09 Canning

This summer we spent a lot of time canning. It was fun to get together with my family and can some yummy food. We canned salsa, apples, apple pie filling, potatoes, stew mix, taco soup, and much more. I even did some more beef on my own. The collage of pictures is from a day when we made apple pie filling and some of the kids helped out. We peeled tons of apples so there help was much appreciated. The apples were from our trees. If anyone has a good connection for cheap canning jars let me know. :)

Bunco Babes Retreat

We had a blast going to Cindee Clarks cabin for a Bunco Babes retreat. Most of us were able to make it. We played games watched a movie, went shopping, visited and ate lots of really good food. It was great to be in cooler weather. I love all my Bunco friends, they are awesome women.

4th of July

On the 4th of July we did a frybread event at Schneph Farms in Queen Creek. It was DANG hot! We couldn't get our coolers to work in the booth. We usually spend the 4th at Bonnie's house swimming and having a bbq with our families. Courtney & Kristen were dog/house sitting for someone so I had Courtney bring the other girls out to us so they could at least see the fireworks and have some yummy frybread. I was feeling guilty for not being with them. Duane & Curt's kids came out too. Nellie freaked out when the fireworks started so I sat in Sherry's truck with her so they wouldn't be so loud. I finally got her to look at them and be happy.
