Halloween 2011

Our ward had a Trunk or Treat at the church with hamburger and hotdogs. It was a lot of fun.  I always like going to them because it is candy you trust and everybody is close by & you get to see your friends.  Haley brought her friends Miranda & Brianna.  Kristen helped Nellie & Lucy walk around.  Brandi always loves to hand out the candy to the little kids.

Scott's Surgery

Scott had his back surgery on October 26th.  We were very excited for this day.  This was by far one of the biggest trials we have had to go through.  It was very hard to see Scott in such pain.  It was a little scarey financially because the money that Scott got from disability was nothing compared to what he makes while working.  I have not worked outside of the home for almost 25 years so would not be qualified for a high paying job. We went on a very strict budget.  Before the surgery Scott's injury was so bad it was like I was living with a 90 year old husband.  Don't get me wrong, I love 90 year old men, just wasn't ready to be living with one yet.  :)  He walked very hunched over & with a cane.  Because one of the only positions he could be in comfortably was in the recliner, that is where he slept for 3 months and pretty much stayed unless he had a Drs. appointment or went to the bathroom.  Most of the time we would bring him food into the bedroom because it hurt him to walk. This was very hard for our family to go through, but during it all I could feel the love of my Heavenly Father & knew he loved us and cared about us.
My awesome friend Cristy Steinbeigle brought this meal into us the night of his surgery.  What a blessing it is to have good friends.
This is a video I took of Scott going into the hospital for surgery.  He is actually walking much better here than he was at the beginning of his injury.

AZ State Fair

We finished off our 19th year of selling frybread at the AZ State Fair. Stressful times, but fun times also. Jenny tried a new kind of frybread (just for us, not to sell) that had Nutella on it. It was sooo yummy. We always love when friends & family come see us and have some of our frybread. Brandi loved working at the fair doing pops again. Mom only came in for a couple of days and for only a short while. We had to stop her from doing things and kicked her out when time to go. She is not supposed to lift or do much with her left arm because of the lymph nodes that she had removed. Her arm could swell up and would be permanently damaged if so. We always feel blessed and protected as a family by our Heavenly Father at the fair.

Tyson's 25th Birthday

Tyson had planned to go skydiving on his birthday & after he was all suited up and ready to go they told him the plane had problems and he wouldn't be able to go. He was so bummed. He did get to go a couple days later & loved it. He loves to be able to say the first plane he ever flew in he jumped out of. A couple days later he went on a real flight to Texas to visit a friend.
